The future of Vampocalypse
Short summary since this is a long post - I have decided to make Vampocalypse a full game, much more polished and with a lot of new content :)

Hello everyone!
First I want to say that I had a lot of fun participating in the game jam, there were some great games,
and I had a lot of fun both playing other games, and getting feedback on mine.
I am very happy that the game won second place :D
As to the future of this game, I have decided to continue working on it and make it a full length game.
I think there is a lot of potential to dive deeper into the world where this game takes place, and explore the mechanics and narrative further.
My document with the plans for this game has become much longer than I anticipated :)
But I will try to give a short overview of what I have planned:
- Many more episodes, with some unique challenges, mechanics and locations for each one.
- You will have some time to spend in the prison between episodes, and interact with other vampires living there. This will include some side quests, shops, narrative, and more.
- A much broader narrative, I am planning on exploring the lore of the world and how it got to this situation, as well as the full story of how and why you get captured, and how you plan to escape. If everything goes as planned, I might also a voice actor for the announcer.
- A leveling system, where you can increase your attributes and unlock perks after each episode, these will include unlocking and upgrading transformations, each transformation will have at least a few upgrades to unlock, which unlocks active skills and makes each transformation even more unique. You will also be able to unlock other skills and upgrades that affect all forms.
- At least two new transformations, which you will be able to unlock through the perk system.
My current plans are a water animal, which will be able to swim move very fast in water. And a big animal, which will be slow but very resilient to damage. - An alchemy system, You will be able to gather plants in episodes and later use them in the prison to create potions.
Potions will improve your character both with permanent effects, and effects that will last for one episode. - Polish! I plan on redoing and polishing almost everything, from gameplay mechanics to art and audio.
I will make a big effort to bring everything to a higher level, while keeping the original style intact.
When trying to decide how to move forward with this game, I understood that this game has more potential than I thought, and I really believe it can be great if done right.
On the other hand, everything I have planned is very high in scope and will likely take me a long time to make. Especially since I am doing this in my spare time.
Before making any new content, I will likely start by creating the bigger narrative, and redoing the mechanics I already have, this is both to make sure they feel as good as they can, and to write my code in a way that is more suitable for a larger project.
It will likely take some time until I have any new content to share.
